Ready to join the Squad?
Do you love kids, have a playful spirit, and want to start learning how to be an amazing sitter? Are you between the ages of 13–15 and ready to jump in, help out, and gain real experience while having fun? 🎉
If so, the SIT Squad is calling your name! This volunteer program is designed for aspiring sitters who aren’t quite old enough for paid jobs but want to start their journey in childcare. It’s fun, hands-on, and the perfect way to grow into a future sitter or nanny.
What you’ll do
Shadow experienced sitters at events and group care sessions
Assist with games, crafts, and activities (bring your energy!)
Help with setup, cleanup, and organizing play areas
Support the team while learning valuable childcare skills
Be part of a crew that brings smiles wherever we go!
Help keep a secure environment for the little ones
requirements
Ages 13–15
Parent/guardian permission form signed
Complete basic sitter training (babysitting basics, safety, and engagement tips). We'll train you!
Be a team player by willing to help and learn, not lead independently
Friendly, responsible, and excited to serve families in the community
PERKS
As part of the SIT Squad, you’ll earn community service hours that can be used for school, clubs, or scholarships, plus a volunteer certificate and reference letter after 10+ hours. You’ll get fun team swag (badge, lanyard, stickers, maybe even a shirt!) and enjoy hands-on training workshops with mentorship from real sitters. Members also get priority access to become a Junior Sitter at 16 and can level up through our badge system, from Storytime Star to Snack Setup Champ to Toy Cleanup Hero!
SCHEDULE
Availability to volunteer some Fridays, Saturdays and/or Sundays (most events take place on these days).
LOCATION
SIT Squad Sitters can help at a variety of events, including family events and parent workshops, religious events, galas, dinners, and community gatherings where children need a safe and fun space to play and learn.
